TEMPE, Ariz. – Representing both Arizona State volleyball and their home country, Andrea Mitrovic and Megan Beedie have been named to Canadian national teams that will train and compete this summer.

Mitrovic, a junior pin hitter who joined the Sun Devils in January, was one of 18 named to the Senior A Squad. Beedie, another junior, is on the NextGen Squad. The traveling rosters have yet to be announced.

Mitrovic came to ASU from Buffalo where she played two seasons. She was named to the 2018 All-MAC First Team after leading her team in kills with 474 and in digs with 317. She also was named the MAC East Player of the Week five times last season. This will not be Mitrovic's first time training with the Canadian national program. She was part of the Canadian Youth National Development Program before playing in college.

In her sophomore season, Beedie had a breakout year. A consistent presence, she played all but four sets in 2018, earning 62 blocks and 21 aces, both of which were second on the team. She finished fifth in the Pac-12 and first on the team in hitting percentage with .355.

Canada will compete at the Challenge Cup, a continental pre-qualifer for Volleyball Nations League on May 31 to June 2. The team will also see action at the Pan American Games in Peru from August 2-4. There will also be other select international competitions.
