The @SunDevilMGolf program got off to a slow start at the 60th Pac-12 Championships held in Eugene on Monday, and finds itself in eighth place with two rounds to play after a 36-hole day on Monday.
ASU, a 12-time winner of the event, trails leaders Stanford and UCLA by 18 strokes after improving its score by 15 strokes after in the second round. ASU will tee at 10 a.m. on Tuesday for its 18 holes with Colorado and Washington.
ASU played the par-3 holes well at 9-over, third-best in the tournament, but could not take advantage on the par-5 holes as it was only 5-under as compared to Cal (-17) along with USC, Stanford and Utah, all at 12-under. The Sun Devils could muster only 30 birdies, while tournament leader Cal had 42.
Freshman Cameron Sisk had 26 birdies, tied for fourth-most in the first two rounds, while junior Chun An Yu had ASU's lone eagle on the par-5 sixth hole (548 yards).
