@SunDevilMGolf Leads Field After Two Rounds of Thunderbird Collegiate

The second-ranked Arizona State men's golf team sits in the lead after the first day of the Thunderbird Invitational held at Papago Golf Course. After winning back-to-back in 2017 and 2018, the Sun Devils look to keep the success rolling in the first year the tournament is being played at Papago.

The Sun Devils lead by nine strokes after two rounds (277-278), with the ASU B team tied for fifth (285-281).   

Junior Chun An Yu finished the first two rounds at 9-under (66-67) and has a four-stroke lead over the No. 1 ranked golfer in the country, Oklahoma State's Matthew Wolff, (70-67) and Marquette's Oliver Farrell (70-67). Two other Sun Devils finished the day in the top-10. Sophomore Koichiro Ishika is tied for seventh at three-under (69-70) and freshman Cameron Sisk is tied for tenth at two-under (69-71), as both are playing for the Sun Devil B team.

The Sun Devils are looking to secure their third-consecutive victory this season and third-consecutive Thunderbird Collegiate victory. 

ASU will begin teeing off for the final round beginning at 8:24 a.m. tomorrow.
