OKLAHOMA CITY – With a season-best vault rotation that saw two career highs, No. 19 Arizona State gymnastics scored a 195.650 to take third place at the Perfect 10 Challenge on Friday night, beating George Washington while falling short to No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 18 Washington.

"Starting on beam can be a hard rotation to get going, but I thought we did a pretty good job with our routines," Arizona State head coach Jay Santos said. "Even though the scores were a little tight to start, I thought the performances were pretty good. Floor was definitely not our best effort tonight and we certainly allowed too many mistakes and it cost us. From there, I was pretty pleased with the rest of our meet on vault and bars.  We were able to bounce back from floor with a strong vault rotation and it was great to see the vaulters rally and pull it back together. Then they were able take that to bars and finish strong."

Arizona State (6-6) got off to a slow start, scoring 48.750s on both beam and floor. However, the Gym Devils bounced back with a 49.075 on vault, their best this season. A 49.075 ended the night on bars, their fifth-straight meet scoring over 49.000 on bars.

Anne Kuhm led ASU in the all-around, scoring a 39.275 to finish in third behind two Sooners. On vault, bars and floor, the senior earned 9.825 or better. Morgan Wilson and Jessica Ginn both scored career highs on vault, 9.900 and 9.850, respectively. Wilson's 9.900 is the best score on vault this year for the Sun Devils. The only other 9.900 or better came on bars, courtesy of Cairo Leonard-Baker. The sophomore scored a 9.925 in the last routine of the night for ASU to take third individually. On beam, Justine Callis also placed in third individually with her score of 9.875.
