TEMPE, Ariz. – Courtney Ekmark scored a season-high 19 points to help lead the No. 17 Arizona State women's basketball team to a 69-47 win over Southern University on Friday.

Kianna Ibis added 10 points and six rebounds while Charnea Johnson-Chapman scored seven points to go with a game-high eight rebounds for the Sun Devils (6-2), who won their fourth straight game.

By game's end, eleven different Sun Devils found their way into the scoring column.

Skylar O'Bear scored 16 points to lead the Jaguars (2-5), who connected on eight 3-pointers, the most by an ASU opponent this season.

Ekmark (four assists, one turnover) and Reili Richardson (four assists, one turnover), tied for the team high in assists while Kiara Russell paced ASU with three steals. Also recording multiple steals were Taya Hanson and Jamie Loera, who had two apiece.

Ekmark, who was responsible for half of ASU's six triples, scored seven points in the opening stanza to help the Sun Devils build a 24-6 lead after one quarter.

Southern got within 13 midway through the second quarter, but could not pull any closer as the Sun Devils closed the half with a 13-3 run to take a 42-19 lead into the locker room.

Ibis and Ekmark both drained a pair of free throws to open the second half and help ASU claim its largest lead of the game, 46-19.

ASU's shooting cooled off in the third quarter as it converted only 21 percent (3-14) of its attempts. The Sun Devils would close out strong, however, as they shot 56 percent in the final period (5-9). Ekmark accounted for eight of ASU's 14 fourth-quarter points as she made all three of her shots and both of her free throws in the final frame.
