TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State volleyball has announced the signing of transfer Andrea Mitrovic, an all-conference outside hitter from the University of Buffalo.
"We are excited for Andrea to join our team," Arizona State head coach Sanja Tomasevic said. "She had a good year at her previous school and we believe she will have an impact on our team immediately. We are super excited to have her here in January so that she will be more than familiar with the system and the team by the time season starts."
In this past season at Buffalo, Mitrovic earned All-MAC First Team honors after leading her team in kills with 474 and second in digs with 317. She was named the MAC East Player of the Week five times in 2018. Additionally, she set a Buffalo record for kills in a match with 34 against Kent this year and had eight matches with 20-plus kills. She earned 11 double-doubles in her sophomore campaign, two of which was a 20-20s.
As a freshman at Buffalo, Mitrovic was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team after finishing second on the team in kills with 378 and in digs with 306. She also had 14 double-doubles in her first season.
While in high school, she helped her team to an 18-1 record in her senior season at Silverthorn Collegiate Institute. She also trained with the Canadian Youth National Development Program and was an Ontario Volleyball Association All-Star both as a 17U and 18U.
Mitrovic will be the second Canadian on the team, along with Megan Beedie, as she is from Mississauga, Ontario. Her parents are Ljubomir and Dusanka Mitrovic and she has four older siblings.
