HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The firepower came from all angles on Saturday night, as all four Sun Devil lines – and one defenseman – accounted for the five goals in a 5-1 win at the Von Braun Center.

Freshman defenseman Jarrod Gourley and redshirt freshman Austin Lemieux netted their first collegiate goals, while the penalty kill shut down eight Alabama-Huntsville power plays for ASU's first road sweep since December 2016.

"We wanted to have a first big period and we did," said head coach Greg Powers. "We still have to find a way to stay out of the box, but overall a great effort, two big road wins and now we get back to work before our upcoming homestand."

A back-and-forth first period appeared to be heading into the first intermission scoreless, but a late power play drastically shifted the momentum.

Fellow linemate Brett Gruber earned the assist, giving him, Busch and Walker all three points for the series at the time dating back to Friday night.

The lid blew off from there, as senior Jake Clifford scored his first goal of the season just 37 seconds later with Jacob Wilson and Dominic Garcia earning their first assists.

Sophomore defenseman Gvido Jansons picked up his first collegiate assist and freshman Jordan Sandhu recorded his third apple on the season.

The second intermission again went back-and-forth with 12 penalties between the two teams. ASU killed four Charger man advantages in the period.

In one of the brief periods of 5-on-5 hockey during the middle frame, another Sun Devil recorded a first.

Before it was all said and done, Huntsville and ASU exchanged goals in the third period with Gourley netting his first NCAA goal on a blast from the left circle.
