Coach Powers on Buncis: "Filips fits in with our identity perfectly. He's a big, heavy, left shot centerman that plays a really good 200-foot game. He is the captain of his team in Johnstown and also wore a letter for Latvia's World Junior team. He has tremendous upside and definitely has the ability to come in and contribute right away."

Personal: Son of Dina & Edgars ... has two younger sisters (Nikole & Tina) ... lists winning championships & hockey tournaments as his favorite moments in hockey ... speaks three languages (Latvian, Russian and English) ... played with teammate and friend Gvido Jansons with Team Latvia prior to reconnecting at ASU ... enjoys playing basketball, tennis and soccer in his free time.
