WILMETTE, Ill. – Finishing just five strokes out of the lead in a talented field, No. 9 Sun Devil women's golf earned their second consecutive second-place finish to start the fall season at the Windy City Collegiate Championship hosted by Northwestern. The Sun Devils finished ahead of seven other teams ranked in the top-25 by either Golfweek or Golfstat.

"We are so proud of Raquel and her amazing performance this week," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "She played beautifully from start to finish. We had really solid play from all five members of this team. This is a very good finish for us in a very good field. We're halfway through the fall and I'm excited to play in two more really good tournaments."

Individually, Raquel Olmos earned the best finish of her collegiate career to date and her second consecutive top-10 finish to start her sophomore season. Tied for the lead halfway through the third round, Olmos finished just one stroke behind the individual champion from tournament-winner No. 5/6 USC.

Finishing in a tie for seventh, fellow Sun Devil Olivia Mehaffey also earned her second straight top-10 finish to begin her junior year. All three of Olmos' rounds (70, 66, 71) and two of Mehaffey's three rounds (77, 66, 72) were at or below par.

Senior Madison Kerley also finished inside the top-20, tied for 18th, and recorded her best three-round tournament score (72, 76, 72 = 220) since the first tournament of last season.

Alexandra Forsterling (T48) and Sofia Anokhina (T60) rounded out the Sun Devils' five competitors.

After competing twice just a week apart, ASU has just over two weeks before their next competition, staying west this time for the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 19-21). The Sun Devils will close the fall season with the Pac-12 Preview in Kailua Kona, Hawai'i Nov. 5-7.
