WILMETTE, Ill. – Following the first two rounds of play at the Windy City Collegiate Classic, No. 9 Sun Devil women's golf is currently in third place, just two strokes out of the lead, behind sophomore Raquel Olmos' career-low 66 round two. Junior Olivia Mehaffey also matched the same low score in round two, one stroke off her collegiate career-low in the same round.

Olmos and Mehaffey's 6-under 66 was good for the third-best individual 18-hole score vs. par in school history. Olmos hit a hole-in-one on hole 13 during round two while, in the same round, Mehaffey recorded seven birdies.

"We started off quite slow this morning but came back very strong this afternoon with great rounds from Raquel and Olivia," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "Also, getting to watch Raquel get a hole-in-one was awesome. I believe Madison, Sofia, and Lexi will be ready to have great rounds tomorrow as well. We're looking forward to competing hard tomorrow and giving it our best shot to win."

As a team, the Sun Devils improved upon their first-round score in round two by 11 strokes, the lowest second round of the day by any team.

Olmos is in second-place, 8-under overall, after the first 36 holes, while Mehaffey joins her in the top-10 (T8). Senior Madison Kerley is just outside the top-25, in a tie for 26th, even in round one.

The third and final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 2 with the Sun Devils teeing off with USC and Arizona between 9-9:36 am CT (7-7:36 am PT) on hole one. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat at http://results.golfstat.com//public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=16178.
