TEMPE, Ariz. – As we prepare to start our 2018-19 season next month, this week we'll be re-introducing you to our returning Pac-12 individual champions.
 
We have seven returning Pac-12 titlists (Josh Shields, Tanner Hall, Zahid Valencia, Josh Maruca, Anthony Valencia, Kordell Norfleet, and Christian Pagdilao) while Ryan Millhof also won a Big 12 Championship while at Oklahoma.
 
Today, get to know two-time Pac-12 Champion (2017, 2018) Anthony Valencia (165 lbs), a redshirt junior business communications major from Bellflower, Calif.
 
Q: Which teammate is in the room practicing more than anyone else?
A: Austin Clayton
 
Q: What's your favorite place to eat in Tempe?
A: Los Favoritos
 
Q: What's your favorite ASU team to support, other than wrestling?
A: Football
 
Q: Are you superstitious? If so, what's the most ridiculous thing you do?
A: I make sure my shoe laces aren't going to come undone during my match.
 
Q: What's a unique part of your pre-match ritual?
A: I say a few prayers while I'm warming up.
 
Q: In three words, what's it like being coached by Zeke?
A: Great, smart, technician
 
Q: Pancakes or waffles?
A: Waffles
 
Q: Pineapple on pizza?
A: Sometimes
 
Q: What does a day in the life of you look like?
A: I wake up, go to our morning lift, then I go back home to eat and get work done for my online classes. Then I go to our afternoon practice, then go back home to eat dinner and finish studying.
