TEMPE, Ariz. – As we prepare to start our 2018-19 season next month, this week we'll be re-introducing you to our returning Pac-12 individual champions.
 
We have seven returning Pac-12 titlists (Josh Shields, Tanner Hall, Zahid Valencia, Josh Maruca, Anthony Valencia, Kordell Norfleet, and Christian Pagdilao) while Ryan Millhof also won a Big 12 Championship while at Oklahoma.
 
Today, get to know All-American and two-time Pac-12 Champion (2017, 2018) Josh Shields (157 lbs), a redshirt junior from Murrysville, Pa. majoring in Sports and Media Studies.
 
Q: Which teammate is in the room practicing more than anyone else?
A: Josh Kramer or Austin Clayton
 
Q: What's your favorite place to eat in Tempe?
A: Ike's Sub Shop
 
Q: What's your favorite ASU team to support, other than wrestling?
A: Volleyball, for sure.
 
Q: What's a unique part of your pre-match ritual?
A: I always pray before I wrestle so I remember that it's all about God and not me.
 
Q: In three words, what's it like being coached by Zeke?
A: Mind-blowing, fun, unique
 
Q: Pancakes or waffles?
A: Pancakes
 
Q: Pineapple on pizza?
A: No
 
Q: What food(s) do you dream of while cutting weight?
A: The melon berry blast slushy from QuikTrip.
 
Q: What does a day in the life of you look like?
A: I wake up, go to our morning lift, and then I pray and read the Bible. Then I do homework, go to the afternoon practice, and then on Tuesdays I come home and watch The Challenge on MTV.
