Can't explain with words the feeling of getting a bronze medal for my country at worlds. Winning the tournament was something I'll never forget. Feels good to be an individual WORLD… https://t.co/w5aiVu8C9y

Junior and @ASUMensGolf 2018 All-Pac-12 First-Team selection Alex del Rey put his name among the heavy hitters on Saturday in Ireland. Much like Jon Rahm did in 2014, del Rey entered the final round of the 215-player World Amateur Championship with a chance to win the Eisenhower Trophy. Other past winners include Rickie Fowler (2008), Ryan Moore (2004), Bryce Molder (2000), Hal Sutton (1980) and Jack Nicklaus (1960).

Q: How does one win the Eisenhower Trophy, given to best finisher at World Team Amateur?
A: Draw circles around scores of eight holes@a_delrey99 = hombre en llamas last weekend pic.twitter.com/AzWADN9ZHU

He came up big, posting eight birdies and no bogeys with a final-round 8-under 65 to win the title. He shot a 64 in the second round on Thursday -- which would match the best of tournament -- and finished at 23-under 267 (70-64-68-65) to win the title by one stroke over Japan's Takumi Kanaya.
