The @SunDevilMGolf team, the only Pac-12 team to make the 15-team cut on Sunday, saw its 2017-18 come to a close in the final stroke play round Monday at the #NCAAGolf Championships at Karsten Creek Golf Course (par-72/7,460 yards) in Stillwater, Okla. ASU shot 14-over 302 in its final round and finished at 30-over 880 (296-289-295-302) and tied with Clemson for 13th.
ASU earned the championship trip as the only team in the 30-team field without a junior or senior in the lineup. It marked the first NCAA Championship experience for freshmen Mason Andersen and Koichiro Ishika, and just the second for sophomores Alex del Rey, Chun An Yu and Blake Wagoner.
In his second NCAA Championship An Yu led the Sun Devils as he tied for 21st with a 69 in the first round. He led ASU in birdies with 43 as he posted a 2-over 290.

Sophomore Blake Wagoner tied for 65that 14-over 302 that included a 1-under 71 on Sunday and had 10 birdies.
Freshman Koichiro Ishika battled back from tough starts every day. He posted 5-over 9 on the opening hole Friday and was 6-over through six holes, but battled to shoot 2-over the rest of the way. On Saturday he was 3-over through seven, but posted two birdies in final 11 holes. On Sunday he posted bogey on the opening hole and was 3-over through seven but then had three straight birdies and birdied No. 18. In the final round he bogeyed the first two holes and was 3-over through the first eight holes but posted three birdies and ended at 2-over par for the day.
The top 15 teams and nine individuals now advance team now advance match-play quarterfinals and semifinals conducted on Tuesday followed by finals on Wednesday, May 30.
ALL OF THEM BACK: ASU was one of six teams to earn a championship appearance without having a senior in the lineup. Others were Clemson, Kent State, North Carolina State, Oregon and UCLA.
