PHOENIX – The Sun Devil Baseball team cruised past Pacific, 8-3, in the second game of a two-game series Monday evening at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Gage Workman continued to add to his already impressive freshman season, as the switch hitter had hits from both sides of the plate during his 3-for-4 effort. Workman drove in a team-high three runs, providing a spark from the bottom of the lineup.

Seven different Sun Devils registered a hit, including Gage Canning and Hunter Jump, who each had a multi-hit game. Canning now has 25 multi-hit outings this season and Jump recorded his 8th multi-hit performance over the past 12 games.

Senior left-hander Eli Lingos got the start for the Sun Devils, his 13th of the season. Lingos was able to provide the Sun Devils exactly what they needed from a veteran presence, as Lingos worked around a couple jams on the way to recording his seventh quality start of the season. Leaving the game with a healthy advantage, Lingos completing six innings of work, allowing three runs while striking out four.

ASU threatened in the first, loading the bases with no outs, but were unable to capitalize on the hot start with just one run scored on a Carter Aldrete sacrifice fly for the early 1-0 advantage.

The Devils mounted a three-run two-out rally in the bottom of the fourth, as Alika Williams brought across Hunter Bishop with an RBI single. Workman scored on a passed ball before Jump knocked his 18th RBI in the last 12 games to bring Williams home to give ASU a 4-0 advantage.

Lingos worked four quick innings of work to open up the ballgame, keeping the Tigers off the board while facing just one over the minimum.

After Pacific got on the board with two runs in the top of the fifth, ASU responded with two runs of its own as Workman notched a bases-loaded single to bring two runs across and keeping ASU up, 6-2.

Workman again extended the lead in the seventh as he followed up a Hunter Bishop triple with an RBI double for this third hit and third RBI of the contest to make it 7-3 in favor of the Devils.

The Bishop triple represents the 23rd triple of the season for the Sun Devils, a total tied for the fourth most in the nation.

ASU got one more insurance run in the bottom of the eighth on Aldrete's second RBI of the game, a single to bring across Canning. Aldrete now has seven multi-RBI games on the season.

A trio of relievers consisting of Fitz Stadler, Sam Romero, and Dellan Raish combined to throw three scoreless innings in relief of Lingos.
