RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Arizona State lacrosse team (3-1) didn't let a rainy day slow them down as they defeated the Manhattan Jaspers (1-2), 18-8, Saturday afternoon at Gaelic Park. The 18 goals and 10-goal margin of victory were both program records for the Sun Devils.

"I was impressed with our play all over the field today starting with the center draw," said head coach Courtney Martinez Connor. "We got back on track in that area of the game and I think we dominated for a majority of the game. On the offensive end of the field we were sharing the ball. We had eight different players putting up points offensively and more than half of our goals were assisted so we had a lot of movement which is something we've been working on."

The Sun Devil offense recorded 29 points in the game, with goals from eight different scorers and four of them adding assists. Freshman midfielder Maddy Hunter was the leading scorer for the Sun Devils with four goals.

Freshman Emily Glagolev added three goals on five shots as well as three assists for a career high six points. Junior co-captain Kerri Clayton added three goals and two assists to bring her four-game total to 19 goals as she continues to lead the Pac-12 in that category. Freshman attacker Graci Fulkerson was the most successful passer for the Sun Devils with a program record five assists on top of her one goal.

Off the bench, freshmen Taylor Carson and Avery Hamill each hit the back of the net twice on just three shots apiece. Hamill's goals were the first of her career.

"On the defensive side we've been focused on our team play and I think today we got back to working with one another, for one another, and moving as an entire defensive unit," added Martinez Connor. "Once we caused a turnover we started our offensive game and I couldn't be more proud of our group. I think all over the field we improved our play from our last game."

The Sun Devils caused 12 Jasper turnovers and picked up a total 17 ground balls.

Sophomore goalkeeper Berkeley Bonneau recorded her third win of the season with nine total saves. She also picked up five ground balls.

Up next the Sun Devils continue play in the Big Apple with a Monday tilt against the Columbia Lions at 11 a.m. MST/1 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcasted live on the Ivy League Network. Fans can purchase a one-day subscription to watch or can stay updated on Twitter by following @SunDevilWLax.
