The Arizona State men's golf team heads south for the NIT in Tucson, Arizona on Feb. 25-2. The two-day event, hosted by the University of Arizona, takes place at Omni Tucson National Resort on the par 72/7,262-yard Catalina Course. Round one and two will both be played on Sunday with the final round taking place Monday. The field will consist of 16 teams, including three from the Pac-12 (Arizona State, Arizona and Utah).
THE FIELD: (GCAA RANK): Colorado State (23), Arizona State, Arizona, Iowa State, North Texas, Sacramento State, UNLV, Nevada, Princeton, Santa Clara, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico State, Rutgers University, San Diego, Texas El Paso.
LAST YEARS SUCCESS: Arizona State had a good showing overall last year in NIT, with the team finishing second overall with a 3-round total of 837/-27. They were led by freshman Chun An Yu, who was playing in just his third college event. Yu impressively shot a final round 64, which led him to first place overall. With that win Kevin joined the likes of Jon Rahm and Paul Casey, as freshman who have medaled in events since 1995. Also, Yu shot two of his best five last year out in Tucson.
