TEMPE -- In their first matchup of the spring season, the No. 24 Sun Devil women's tennis team will travel to Ann Arbor for the Michigan Invitational, set to kick off this weekend (Jan. 13-15).

The invite, which features four other top-ranked programs in No. 7 Georgia Tech, No. 8 Texas Tech, No. 10 Michigan and 13th-ranked Ohio State, is at the Wolverines' Varsity Tennis Center, however, there is no team scoring (win or loss) at the event.

Six Devils are set to take the courts in the Wolverine State, including No. 83 Savannah Slaysman, Ilze Hattingh, Lauryn John-Baptiste, Tereza Kolarova, Sasa Klanecek and Nicole Fossa Huergo. The event features nine other ranked singles players, including three from the Red Raiders of Texas Tech and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, two from Michigan and one Buckeye, ensuring exciting matchups across the three-day event.

The action is set to kick off at 10 a.m., Saturday with singles matches between Texas Tech and Georgia. A few hours later at 1 p.m., doubles begin and then are followed by singles between Michigan and ASU/Ohio State. Each team will play one round of singles and one round of doubles per day, and points will be allotted for each win based on the following decreasing point value to determine the champion (singles and doubles) at the end of the weekend:

Win at No. 1 position -- 8 points
Win at No. 2 position -- 7 points
Win at No. 3 position -- 6 points
Win at No. 4 position -- 5 points
Win at No. 5 position -- 4 points
Win at No. 6 position -- 3 points
Win at No. 7 position -- 2 points
Win at No. 8 position -- 1 point

Sunday will feature the same layout of events as Saturday, while the action is set to kick off bright and early Monday morning at 8:30 a.m., with singles between ASU/Ohio State and Georgia Tech. Doubles begins at 1 p.m. and singles between Michigan and Texas Tech follows, wrapping up the tournament.
