TEMPE, Ariz. – Kianna Ibis scored a game- and career-high 20 points to go with a career-high three blocks to help lead the Arizona State women's basketball team to a 65-54 win over Colgate on Sunday.

Robbi Ryan (12 points) and Charnea Johnson-Chapman (10 points) also scored in double figures for the Sun Devils (4-0), who used a 20-6 run in the second half to put break away from the Raiders (2-2).

"I think that was really good for us. It was really good for us because it exposed what we're going to see against top-level competition," ASU head coach Charli Turner Thorne said. "If you leave them open they're going to hit shots, that's what (Colgate) did. We weren't playing terrible, but if we put our hands down they hit shots. We didn't rotate, they hit shots. We got exposed in some areas and things that we haven't been doing well. It's really kind of a blessing thinking about what's coming up next for us."

Added Ryan, "Colgate came out and they played really tough and they communicated. They played a really good game and I think it was good for us to see different defenses and a different match-up to get us ready for upcoming games."

ASU helped its cause with a 41-31 rebounding advantage in addition to scoring 20 points off of Colgate's 19 turnovers. Johnson-Chapman and Ryan led ASU's effort on the boards, accounting for eight apiece.

After recording 31 assists in Saturday's win over Sacramento State – the first time ASU had 30 or more assists since 2008 – the Sun Devils had 22 on Sunday. Coming off a career-high, 10-assist performance, Reili Richardson dished out seven more versus Colgate giving her 17 assists and only two turnovers for the weekend.

The Sun Devils led 33-30 at the half and found still found themselves in a competitive tilt after Rachel Thompson's jumper got the Raiders within five points with under three minutes left in the third quarter. A free throw by Ryan, and layups by Ibis and Sophia Elenga helped ASU quickly double its lead, 50-40.

The Sun Devils would clamp down on the defensive end in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Raiders 15-6 in the first seven minutes of the final frame to help secure the win.

Ryan (10 points/seven in the fourth quarter), Ibis (eight points) and Johnson-Chapman (eight points) combined for 26 of ASU's 32 points in the second half.
