TEMPE – The Arizona State volleyball team and head coach Sanja Tomasevic announced on Tuesday that Santa Clara University transfer Callie Jones will join the Sun Devils in 2017.

Jones, a 5-9 setter from Phoenix, Arizona played in 25 matches while making 15 starts for the Broncos as freshman in 2016. Appearing in 88 sets she paced the Broncos in assists with 580 (6.59/set) to her credit, while also notching season tallies of 149 digs, 23 aces, 16 total blocks and nine kills, respectively. Stepping in to the starting setter role following the injury of a teammate, Jones quickly and effectively transitioned into the post recording 29 assists and a season-best 13 digs in her first collegiate start at Grand Canyon on Sep. 9. Jones posted six double-doubles over the course of the 2016 campaign, notably notching a 47-dig, 11-assist outing against Arizona State on Sep. 16.

Prior to her tenure at Santa Clara, Jones prepped locally at Xavier College Preparatory, competing on the school's indoor and beach programs respectively. Serving as the indoor squad's setter and co-captain under the direction of head coach Lamar-Renee Bryant in 2015, Jones helped propel the No. 28 nationally-ranked Gators to a 34-8 record en route to a Section III title and postseason run. By virtue of her exceptional play, Jones earned Arizona Division I All-Section First Team and All-State Honorable mention honors in 2014. She was twice a state champion at Xavier Prep winning an indoor state championship with the Gators as a sophomore in 2013 and a sand volleyball state championship as a freshman in 2012.

Jones also served as an alternate on the USAV High Performance Women's Jr. Indoor Volleyball National Training Team in 2015, while capturing a gold medal at the USAV Beach High Performance Championships in 2013.

The daughter of Mark and Sheryl Jones, Callie has an older brother, Alec.

Jones joins an extensive list of newcomers to the Sun Devil roster including transfers Peyton Grahovac (Long Beach State), Brooke Westphal (South Florida State College), Isabel Miller (San Diego Mesa) and Alexa Lister (Louisiana Tech/daughter of 2000 Sun Devil Hall of Fame inductee Alton Lister), as well as incoming freshmen Griere HughesDanica KrstonošicShelbie DobmeierMegan Beedie and Mary Vidal.
