SAN FRANCISCO – As announced by the Pac-12 Conference, five members of the National Champion Arizona State women's golf team have earned Academic All-Conference honors.
This marks the sixth-straight year ASU has had multiple First Team selections, as well as nine out of the last 10 seasons. The recent six-year streak leads the Pac-12 in multiple First Team honorees.
Monica Vaughn and Roberta Liti were named to the First Team and Sophia Zeeb to the Second Team, while Linnea Strom and Madison Kerley earned Honorable Mention.
Vaughn, the 2017 NCAA individual medalist, earned her third consecutive Pac-12 All-Academic honor and third straight place on the First Team. As a senior, she set a new program record low round vs. par (-8) in round one of the PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, also setting a new career low (64). She was also named a WGCA First Team All-American, Pac-12 First Team All-Conference, as well as earning CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-District Honors.
Liti earns her second straight Pac-12 All-Academic First Team Honor in 2017 with the team's highest GPA and as a crucial part of the team's national championship run. She earned her first top-10 collegiate finish and victory at the PING/ASU Invitational in April and set a new career low round (67) in a one-round dual vs. Denver in January.
Zeeb receives Pac-12 All-Academic recognition for the first time, also earning Pac-12 All-Conference Honorable Mention following the regular season. With three top-10 finishes this season, she set a new career low (67) in round two of Clover Cup.
Strom, who clinched the victory for the Sun Devils in both the NCAA semifinals vs. Stanford and championship vs. Northwestern, and Kerley rounded out the Sun Devils' All-Academic honors.
To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and appear in at least 50 percent of the team's events.
