Bobby Hurley has added 2015 McDonald's All-American Carlton Bragg to the program, as the 6-10 top-25 Cleveland native will sit the 2017-18 season and have two years to play beginning in 2018-19 after transferring from Kansas. Bragg was rated as the nation's 14th-best prospect by Rivals.com and 21st on the ESPN100 list coming out of high school.

Bragg joins transfers Rob Edwards (Cleveland State) and Zylan Cheatham (San Diego State), who also will sit next year but be instant impact players in the 2018-19 season.

Bragg played in 69 games the past two seasons, and started in five. He was the only Kansas newcomer to play in all 38 games in 2015-16, as he averaged 8.9 minutes in his freshman season and shot .561 percent from the floor, with a season-high 12 points against Kansas State in the Big 12 Tournament and had 10 points and seven boards vs. Baylor in the Big 12 Championship.

"We look forward to Carlton joining the program, as he will join two other transfers (Rob Edwards and Zylan Cheatham) giving us great depth on the practice court next year and providing instant impact in 2018-19," notes Sun Devil head coach Bobby Hurley. "We are confident that he will take full advantage of his redshirt year as he recognized on his visit that this place can be great for his growth and provide him with the structure to be a successful Sun Devil."

In his sophomore season (2015-16), he started the first five games and played in 31 overall and averaged 13.8 minutes, 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds. He had five double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 15 points twice: vs. Siena (11/18) and TCU (2/22). He had 12 points in the season opener against Indiana (11/11) in the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu.

He averaged 3.8 points and 3.8 boards at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, Korea as USA won the gold medal. He had seven boards vs. Chile, nine points vs. Switzerland and eight points in the gold medal double-overtime victory versus Germany, after breaking his nose in the first practice in Korea and wore a mask for two games.

Bragg led Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School to a pair of Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division III state titles in 2014 and 2015 and had nine points for the West in the McDonald's All American Game on April 1, 2015 in Chicago, as he was one of three McDonald's All Americans from Villa Angela-St. Joseph. A consensus five-star player, he averaged 21.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game during his senior season and the 2015 OHSAA Division III Ohio Player of the Year by the Associated Press. He averaged 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds his junior year at Villa Angela-St. Joseph and also played baseball (1B/P) through his freshman year in high school.
