SAN FRANCISCO – As announced by the Pac-12 Conference following the completion of the 2016-17 Women's Swimming & Diving Season, two Sun Devils earned Second Team All-Academic honors while seven received Honorable Mention.

To be eligible for selection to the All-Academic team, student-athletes had to post a 3.0 GPA or higher and participate in at least 50% of regular season meets.

Ivana Ninkovic was a solid contributor for ASU in the 100 and 200 breast this season, posting a third-place finish in the 200 in a January win vs. Oregon State in Tempe. She competed in both events at Pac-12 championships, advancing to the finals in the 100.

Rio Olympian Anna Olasz was a main contributor for the Sun Devils in distance events throughout her collegiate career. She made her mark in ASU's all-time record books with the fourth fastest time in the 1650 free (16:21.21/2014) and seventh fastest in the 1000 free (9:57.48/2016).

Pac-12 platform diving champion Mara Aiacoboae as well as swim co-captains Alysha Bush and Kat Simonovic, fellow seniors Indira Ceranic and Ingibjorg Jonsdottir, and sophomores Kaya Philapil and Marlies Ross received All-Academic Honorable Mention accolades.

The Sun Devil women were named the nation's second most-improved team in 2016-17, earning two Pac-12 champions and two Honorable Mention All-Americans. The women ranked in the top-30 at NCAA's and tripled their number of NCAA qualifiers from a season ago.
