PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Sun Devil Baseball offense scored at least one run in each of the final five innings to pull away for a 12-5 victory over New Mexico State on Tuesday night at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Arizona State (5-3) was paced by junior infielder Andrew Snow, who went 4-for-4 while driving in three runs. He was supported by freshman first baseman Lyle Lin, who continued the hot start to his career, tallying three hits and adding two RBI's to tack on to his team-leading total of nine.

Freshman infielder Carter Aldrete, junior outfielder Ryan Lillard, and senior backstop Zach Cerbo all added multi-hit games of their own. The trio combined to go 7-for-14 driving in four runs and scoring four of their own.

Sophomore left-hander Zach Dixon (0-1) got the start for the Sun Devils, going 1.2 innings allowing just one run on one hit. In relief of Dixon, sophomore right-hander Fitz Stadler (1-0) earned the win after keeping the Aggie (6-4) hitters off-balance on his way to 3.2 innings of one hit baseball.

The Sun Devils used three relief pitchers across the final four innings to close out the Aggies, including sophomore left-hander Connor Higgins, who threw a scoreless ninth to seal the victory.

The Aggies would strike first in the contest, scoring the first run of the game via a bases loaded walk from leadoff hitter junior Marcus Still. Unable to scratch a run across the plate despite threatening through the first three innings, the Devils broke out in the fourth in a big way.

Singles from Carter Aldrete and Ryan Lillard put two runners in scoring position with two outs for senior catcher Zach Cerbo. Cerbo wasted no time delivering for the Sun Devils, shooting the first pitch of the at-bat back up the middle for a two-RBI single to give the Devils their first runs and the lead. Two batters later, Andrew Snow would capitalize on a fielding error by the left fielder that allowed sophomore outfielder Gage Canning to reach by punching one over the first baseman into right field for a two-RBI double to push the ASU lead to 4-1.

The ASU offense would push two more runs across in the fifth to extend the lead to 6-1. New Mexico State would respond with two runs of their own, courtesy of a two-RBI double from sophomore first baseman Tristen Carranza, trimming the lead to 6-3.

It would not take long for the Sun Devil offense to answer. Back-to-back walks to lead off the bottom of the sixth put a runner in scoring position. The next batter, Lyle Lin, stung a RBI single that snuck through the left side of the infield to make it 7-3 ASU. An Aggies error on a fielder's choice and good Sun Devil base running led to two more runs, capping a three run sixth and putting the ASU lead to 9-3. Lin added another RBI single in the seventh to spread the lead to eight.

The Sun Devils responded to the two-run Aggie eighth inning with a two-run eighth inning of their own. Andrew Snow added another RBI, really earning this one as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Ryan Lillard. Another run was added thanks to an Aggies wild pitch to give the Sun Devils a 12-5 lead.
