TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University women's basketball players Sophie Brunner, Quinn Dornstauder and Reili Richardson were recognized by the Pac-12 on Tuesday as the conference announced its annual awards for the 2016-17 season as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Brunner was named to the conference's 15-member All-Pac-12 Team, Dornstauder earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Defensive honorable mention recognition and Richardson was named Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention.
A starter in every game this season, Brunner currently leads the team in scoring (13.6 ppg-14th in the Pac-12), field goal percentage (52.6-fifth in the Pac-12) and rebounds (7.7 rpg-ninth in the Pac-12), is second in steals (1.2 spg) and third in free throws made (65) and assists (1.8 apg). Brunner, who is averaging 16.8 points and has hit 55 percent of her field goals in ASU's last five games, has scored in double figures 21 times this season and has grabbed nine or more rebounds 12 times. With the honor, Brunner, who is ASU's active leader in points (1,352 - seventh on ASU's all-time list), rebounds (901- second on all-time list), assists (177) and steals (173), joins Emily Westerberg (2004-07) as the only other Sun Devil in program history to earn first-team All-Pac-12 honors three times.
Joining Brunner as the only other Sun Devil to start all 29 regular season games, Dornstauder has had her best season as a senior as she currently leads the team in blocks (1.2 bpg-12th in Pac-12) and is second in scoring (10.6 ppg-23rd in Pac-12), FG pct. (49.0-eighth in Pac-12), free throws made (68) and rebounds (6.1 rpg-tied for 13th in Pac-12). After posting a pair of double-doubles her first three seasons, Dornstauder has posted four double-doubles during the 2017 conference season and has just missed double-doubles on three other occasions. Dornstauder, who has scored in double figures 19 times this season (including 13 times in last 17 games) and has grabbed eight or more rebounds 11 times, is averaging 12.8 ppg and shooting 59 percent in ASU's last four games. She is third all-time on ASU's career blocks list with 125.

Richardson set the tone of what was to come on the opening weekend of the season as she was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after averaging 9.0 points and 5.5 assists while connecting on 58 percent of her shots in ASU's wins over Illinois State and San Jose State. Richardson, who currently leads the team in assists (3.8 apg-12th in Pac-12) and FTs made (72), is second in 3-pointers (16) and free throw percentage (82.8-fifth in Pac-12) and third in scoring (8.1 ppg) and steals (1.1 spg), set the program record earlier this season for most assists by a freshman (currently has 109). She has scored in double figures 11 times this season, including a career-high 15 vs. Washington State (Feb. 13), and has had five or more assists nine times, including a career-high eight vs. Oregon (Feb. 5).
The Sun Devils (18-11, 9-9 Pac-12) will be the No. 5 seed in this week's Pac-12 Tournament. They will open play in the tournament on Thursday (2 pm.
