TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State Volleyball team (11-20, 4-15 Pac-12) rallied past Pac-12 foe Colorado (13-16, 5-14 Pac-12) in four sets, 21-25, 25-16, 26-24, 25-18 on Wednesday evening in Wells Fargo Arena.
Freshman Ivana Jeremic led the Sun Devils with 18 kills while junior Oluoma Okaro added 17 kills. Sophomore Lexi MacLean (14) and senior Maya McClendon (13) also added double-digit kills. The four hitters combined for 62 of ASU's 66 kills for the match.
Junior Halle Harker had 15 digs, giving her 1,372 for her career. She now sits 10 digs away from moving up to sixth on the school's all-time career digs list. Freshman Courtney Leffel, sophomore Kylie Pickrell, and freshman Ivana Jeremic all had double-digit digs with 14 each.
"It was a great group effort by everyone offensively and defensively," head coach Stevie Mussie said, "To have four hitters in double-digits and four diggers with double digits. Great night for everybody."
Colorado junior Stephanie Shadley led the Buffaloes with 15 kills, while senior Katelyn Cuff had 11 kills while hitting .562 on the night. Sophomore Naghede Abu had eight blocks.
Up next, the Sun Devils will be back at Wells Fargo Arena to round out the 2016 season on Saturday. They will host Pac-12 rival Arizona at 3:00 p.m. MT on the Pac-12 Network with Amy Gant and Kevin Barnett on the call. The second half of the Territorial Cup ® Series point will be up for grabs during the match.
