CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Arizona State women's soccer team dropped its third consecutive game, falling to the Oregon State Beavers 2-0 on Thursday night.

For the Sun Devils (6-7-2, 1-5-1 Pac-12) the narrative of Thursday's game was similar to that of its 2-0 loss to USC last Saturday as they played hard from start to finish but ultimately could not generate any offense to change the trajectory of the game.

The Beavers (6-8-2, 1-6 Pac-12) scored both of their goals in the last 10:10 of the game has Helene Haavik scored in 80th minute and then added another goal in the 84th minute.

The Beavers outshot the Sun Devils 12-10, including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal, and also took all five corner kicks in the game.

Jessica Raybe led ASU with three shots, including two shots on goal. Kylie Miniefield also placed both of her shots on frame. All four of ASU's defenders – Taylor Coon, Mckenzie Grossman, Devyn Kelsey and Madison Stark – played all 90 minutes as did goalkeeper Megan Delaney who made seven saves. Delaney came up with a number of great saves to help the Sun Devils stay within striking distance.

While the game was still knotted at 0-0, the Sun Devils had several moments when they were able to string together successive passes and get the ball into the attacking third. On more than one occasion they found themselves coming within one more connected pass of setting up a potentially dangerous scoring opportunity.

Although they were down 2-0, the Sun Devils fought until the end. They were nearly able to make it a one-goal game in the 88th minute when Hailey Zerbel's shot hit the crossbar. Jaimie Salas was able to gather in the loose ball and sent a cross into the box for Natalie Stephens whose header was eventually saved by OSU's keeper, Bella Geist.

The Sun Devils took the field on Thursday missing more than 50 percent of their offensive production this season (12 of 22 goals) as Jazmarie Mader (eight goals), Aly Moon (two goals) and Lucy Lara (two goals) were all unable to play due to injury.

The Sun Devils close out their road trip to the state of Oregon on Sunday (1 p.m. PT) when they play at Oregon. The game can be seen live via live stream at http://pac-12.com/live/university-oregon.
