4 Sun Devils Named WGCA All-American Scholars, Most in Pac-12

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida -- Four Arizona State golfers were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar list, the association announced Tuesday. The Sun Devils' four honorees led all Pac-12 programs. 

Junior Monica Vaughn, sophomores Sophia Zeeb and Roberta Liti, and freshman Madison Kerley all made the list after holding above a 3.50 cumulative GPA individually.

It becomes the third-straight season Vaughn has earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors, adding to her impressive 2015-16 resume as a WGCA First-Team All-American, Pac-12 First-Team All-Academic and 2016 Curtis Cup participant with Team USA. In February, Vaughn also earned her first outright collegiate victory in arguably the toughest field of the season at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. 

Like Vaughn, this also makes it multiple years earning the All-American Scholar award for Zeeb and Liti. With her second honor, Liti continues to be successful in the classroom -- a Pac-12 First-Team All-Academic honoree as well -- while playing in every tournament for the Sun Devils in 2015-16. Zeeb also played in every event this season in the maroon and gold, while earning Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

As a freshman, Kerley had two top-10 finishes in her first two collegiate tournaments and held a 74.03 scoring average during her impressive rookie season. In her second-ever tournament at the Windy City Classic, Kerley shot back-to-back 4-under, 68's to finish in a tie for 6th. 

A total of 828 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
