PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Through 36 holes at the Ruby Hill Golf Club, the Arizona State women's golf team is in good position after back-to-back under par rounds at the Pac-12 Championships on Monday and Tuesday.

The No. 10 Sun Devils are in fourth place with a combined 569, seven-under performance through two days, and just three shots behind No. 11 Arizona. Round two showed improvements by the Devils, as freshman Linnea Strom climbed the leaderboard into a tie for fourth while junior Monica Vaughn now sits in a tie for 10th.

"Our team competed hard today and finished strong," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "Linnea played great today with a four-under performance and Mo capped off her day with a chip-in eagle. All five members of this team are excited for the last day and a chance to move up the leaderboard."

After a few missed putts down the stretch on day one that led to a still-impressive one-under par round, Strom bounced back on day two with six birdies for a four-under 68.

The freshman phenom is finding her success on the par 5's, as she currently leads all players at six-under par through two days.

As Farr-Kaye said, the Devils' veteran leader, Vaughn, finished her round just about as good as you possibly could, giving her something to build off of heading into the final day.

Sophomore Roberta Liti is quietly playing solid golf for the Devils as well, putting together consistent back-to-back even-par rounds.

Freshman Madison Kerley also found improvements on day two, shooting par with a 72 and will look to climb the ladder on Wednesday.

The women will tee off at 9:10 a.m. PT on Wednesday for the third and final round alongside No. 4 UCLA. All eyes will be on the leaderboard to see where the Devils and Wildcats will finish, as whoever finishes higher will earn the Territorial Cup point.
