SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Arizona State sophomore Sophia Zeeb will enter the final round of the Bruin Wave Invitational in a tie for second place at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
Zeeb's two-under 70 on the first round tied her career low, and she followed that with an even-par 72 to be one of just seven women who finished the day under par.
The sophomore's success was largely in part to her phenomenal performance on the par-5's, as Zeeb went four-under on the four longest holes on the course including an eagle on the 7th.

The No. 15 Sun Devils remain in second as a team behind No. 6 UCLA, and currently ahead of No. 13 Oklahoma State, No. 14 California, No. 11 Stanford and No. 9 Washington by five-plus strokes.
Freshman Madison Kerley had herself quite a day as well, combining her two rounds for a one-over par day and in a tie for eighth. She also led all Devils with six birdies over her 36-hole, eight-plus hour day.
Both junior Monica Vaughn and freshman Linnea Strom bounced back with better second rounds, with Vaughn tallying three birdies and an eagle and Strom totaling five birdies for the second-most of the ASU women.
The women will tee off at five separate tee times from 8:30 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. PT off the first hole.
