USA Today Sports Top 25 WBB Coaches' Poll
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State University women’s basketball team is ranked No. 15 in the USA Today Sports Top 25 women’s basketball coaches’ poll announced on Thursday.
The Sun Devils concluded the 2014-15 season ranked eighth in the coaches’ poll after advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Earlier this month the Sun Devils were picked to finish third in the Pac-12 by the league's coaches.
The Sun Devils return nine players, including four starters – senior guards Katie Hempen and Elisha Davis and junior posts Sophie Brunner and Kelsey Moos – from last year’s squad that won 29 games (second-highest total in school history).
The Sun Devils open the 2015-16 campaign on Sun., Nov. 15 (3:30 p.m. MT) when they take on Kentucky (ranked No. 17 in the preseason coaches' poll) in their special #KeepTheBeat game for heart-health awareness. Prior to the game the program will be hosting a special Heart Health Awareness Expo.
