"I feel we played better today as a team," head coach Missy Farr-Kaye said. "We need to continue to work on our course management.
"I know this team has a lot of fight in them and is capable of playing very well on this course."
The par-71, 6-130-yard course has proven tricky for the Sun Devils, and course management playing a instrumental role through the first two days. After a day one score of 15-over 299, they came in on Monday with a 12-over 296.
Freshman Madison Kerley has been praised by Farr-Kaye for her ability to manage a course, and showed that on the first day with a one-under 70. She wrapped up her morning with a four-over 75.
Sophomore Roberta Liti drastically improved on her second day, shedding 12 strokes off her game for a four-over 75.
Freshman Linnea Strom turned in the best round of the day for the Devils, claiming a one-over 72 thanks to three birdies in her first nine holes.
Junior Monica Vaughn seemed to be the only one unphased by the front nine, as she parred eight of the nine with just one bogey.
The women tee it up again for the final day tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. PT off the back nine.
