TEMPE, Ariz. - The No. 11 Arizona State women's golf team heads for fairer weather at the Stanford Intercollegiate tournament after back-to-back successful trips to the Midwest.

The tournament is hosted by Dr. Condoleeza Rice at the par-71, 6,130-yard Stanford Golf Course.

The Sun Devils will yet again face a tough field, as No. 1 Northwestern, No. 2 USC, No. 3 Arizona, No. 5 Georgia, and No. 9 Stanford all participate.

In their most recent tournament, ASU finished in 4th at 11-under par -- one stroke off the lead as Northwestern, Arizona and Georgia all tied for first.

In each tournament and each round, the ladies continue to play better and better. From the composure to the striking, head coach Missy Farr-Kaye continues to compliment the ladies on the little adjustments each and every day.

Junior Monica Vaughn continues to anchor the women's team, only shooting over par in two of her six rounds this season. Freshman Madison Kerley has impressed Farr-Kaye with her composure and get-after-it mentality, as she's shot two rounds of four-under par and another three-under performance. Fellow rookie Linnea Strom is getting more and more comfortable as the season progresses, and her 9th-place tie in Chicago has boosted her confidence.

This tournament provides that next step for them to take in showing what their young squad can do and the potential for the 2015-16 season.

At last year's tournament, ASU finished 10th with Vaughn finishing tied for 47th and sophomore Roberta Liti wrapping up the three days in a tie for 31st.

While the inclement weather provided some challenges for the Devils in Chicago and Colorado, there will be nothing but beautiful golf weather awaiting them in Stanford.

The ladies tee off on Sunday and Monday at 8:30 a.m. PT.
