FAIRFAX, CALIF. -- The Arizona State men’s golf team is slated to compete in this week’s Alister MacKenzie Invitational hosted in Fairfax, California at the Par-71 Meadow Club. The two-day tournament which runs from Oct. 12-13, follows a 54-hole format, with 36 holes to be completed on Monday, concluding Tuesday with an additional 18. The invitational features 16 of the nation’s top teams including conference rival and tournament host Cal.
Sun Devil senior Max Rottluff will look to repeat as an individual medalist after winning the event in 2014. Rottluff notched his first of what would accumulate to two wins during the 2014-15 season, finishing with a 54-hole, 9-under, 204.

QUICK RECAP OF THE FALL SEASON THUS FAR...
Coming off a two-week hiatus from tournament play the Sun Devils look to build on what has already been a successful fall campaign. After opening the season with a third-place finish at the Olympia Fields Invitational (Sep. 18-20), Arizona State managed to climb four spots on the final day of the Jackrabbit which ran Sep. 26-28, posting a second-place finish.
Sun Devil senior Alberto Sanchez is off to an impressive start in his 2015-16 campaign. The Nogales, Arizona native has posted two consecutive top-10 finishes, notching third and eighth-place finishes respectively. Sanchez over the course of two events has carded four rounds in the 60s, tying his 2014-15 season total. Currently Sanchez leads the team in scoring with a stroke average of 70.
Coming off an impressive summer season in which he defended his title at the Spanish Amateur and finished as a quarterfinalist in the U.S. Amateur, Jon Rahm has found success early in the fall season. The senior has already notched top-10 finishes at both Olympia Fields and the Jackrabbit. The Barrika Spain, has recorded 24 top-10 finishes over the course of his Sun Devil career, and sits one tournament victory away from tying Sun Devil Hall of Famer Billy Mayfair’s second-place mark of eight career wins.

ASU MEN’S GOLF GREATS ENTER SUN DEVIL ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME...
This past week Arizona State men’s golf legends Chez Reavie and Randy Lein were enshrined into the Sun Devil Athletics Hall of Fame. Reavie and Lein join a 2015 induction class featuring a number of exceptional Sun Devil alumni including Ike Diogu (Men’s Basketball), Derek Hagan (Football), Dustin Pedroia (Baseball), Agnes Kovacs (Women’s Swimming), and Joona Puhakka (Men’s Swimming).

Chez Reavie/2001-04
Reavie a three-time All-American, finished his career with 22 Top-10 finishes in 43 collegiate events and a 72.05 stroke average. A 2001 victory at the U.S. Public Links Championship propelled the then 19-year old Sun Devil swinger to a 2002 Masters appearance. Reavie is just one of three Sun Devils including Billy Mayfair (1986) and John Jackson Jr. (1969) to earn such a distinction. As a senior in 2004 Reavie notched four top-5 finishes including a second-place finish at the Pac-10 Championships.
Randy Lein/1992-2011
Over a 19-year tenure as the Arizona State head men’s golf coach, Lein led the Sun Devils to a national title in 1996, forty-four tournament victories, eight Pac-10 Conference Championships, five NCAA West Regional victories, and 10 top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships. Lein is credited with mentoring over 18 All-Americans on 40 occasions, including Sun Devils legends Jeff Quiney, Paul Casey, and the aforementioned Chez Reavie. Lein Earned Pac-10 Conference Coach of the Year honors five times, and in 2009 was inducted into Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
