TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Baseball head coach Tracy Smith has announced the program’s 2015 fall schedule, which will run from Oct. 19 to Nov. 22.
The team’s annual Maroon & Gold World Series, a best-of-three intrasquad matchup Nov. 19-22, will cap off the Sun Devils’ fall slate.
The majority of practices and scrimmages will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will be held at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. All fall events are open to the public, admission is free and free parking will be available in the Maroon and Main lots. Click here for a parking map.
An open house for current and prospective Sun Devil Baseball season ticket holders will be held at Phoenix Muni during Game 1 of the Maroon & Gold World Series on Thursday, Nov. 19. The Sun Devil Athletics Sales and Service team will be on hand to answer any questions and provide tours of the facility.
The Arizona State Baseball Experience, part of the program’s Alumni Weekend, is a two-day event Nov. 20-21 that includes a golf outing, the inaugural Forks Up/Drinks Down event at Talking Stick Resort, and a tailgate with Andre Ethier and concert with Clayton Anderson prior to the Territorial Cup football game.
One of the golf outings is a Ryder Cup-style event where participants will be paired with ASU greats to compete on either Team Sal Bando/Rick Monday or Team Andre Ethier/Dustin Pedroia in a unique event at Talking Stick. A second flight will include additional Sun Devil baseball alumni and current players on the Papago course.
Ticket packages for the weekend’s events are available to the public for purchase via ASUBaseballExperience.com. Sun Devil Club and ASU Alumni Association Members will receive an exclusive discount.
In addition, the Crest Field of Smiles community service project will be kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony Nov. 21. Head Coach Tracy Smith, Pedroia, and the current Sun Devil baseball team will break ground on the project at Todd Stottlemyer Field in Guadalupe with a plan to fully refurbish the field by November 2016. In addition, the current Sun Devil Baseball team will host the ASU Baseball ProCamp for 80 local disadvantaged youth. In subsequent years, the youth clinic portion will take place at the newly refurbished Crest Field of Smiles.
