"I am very proud of my team today and their great finish," head coach Missy Farr-Kaye said. "We were in the hunt to win and we are starting to believe in ourselves as a team."

The Sun Devils finished one stroke behind the three leaders -- Northwestern, University of Georgia and the University of Arizona -- who all tied at 12-under par for the tournament.

Freshman Madison Kerley continued to demonstrate her ability to manage the golf course, shooting back-to-back four-under 68's -- bogey free on Tuesday -- to finish in a tie for 6th place. She shot a combined 212 for a four-under performance in just her second collegiate tournament.

Junior Monica Vaughn and freshman Linnea Strom both finished the tournament with a three-under 213.

Strom was five-under through the first two rounds, and only saw one bogey in 36 holes. She would battle through two bogeys and a double-bogey on the front nine to par the last nine holes.

Sophomores Roberta Liti and Sophia Zeeb also battled back in their final rounds, shedding strokes off their first 36 holes as Liti shot two-under and Zeeb with even par.

"The Sun Devils are showing their great resilience and fight and I look forward to our next tournament," Farr-Kaye said.

The women enjoy 12 days off before their next tournament, as they'll play in warmer weather than Chicago at the Stanford Intercollegiate tournament starting on Sunday, Oct. 18.
