BOULDER, Colo. – The No. 24 Arizona State women’s tennis team swept Colorado this afternoon, 7-0. Arizona State has improved their record to 10-2 (2-0) on the season against the Buffaloes.
“This was a great weekend for us,” said ASU head coach Sheila McInerney. “It is nice to start our first Pac-12 matches with two wins on the road.
During doubles, No. 75 pair Joanna Smith and Kassidy Jump defeated their opponent, 8-3. Partners Ebony Panoho and Alex Osborne also downed their opponents, 8-3, to earn the point for ASU during doubles.
“After a somewhat slow start, we played really well at 2 and 3 doubles, which gave us good momentum going into single,” said Coach Sheila McInerney. “Joanna and Ebony took care of business and got off the courts quickly, which set the tone for us sweeping during singles.
