Against the Utes

ASU is now 19-6 against the Utes and are winners of the last 10 contests – matching the longest active winning streak by one Pac-12 school over another  

Hold ‘Em Back

ASU forced nine three-and-outs against the Utes and has now forced 64 this season. ASU entered the game forcing an average of 6.88 three-and-outs per game on defense, ranking second nationally in the category.

Century Mark Streak

Grice has now recorded 100+ all-purpose yards in 11 consecutive games. That stands as the nation’s fourth-longest current active streak of games. He finished with 136 yards on the ground, 20 by air and 63 on kickoff returns for 219 all-purpose yards in the contest.

Red Zone Execution

With exception of mercy kneel against Colorado, ASU has now scored on 45 straight red zone drives and is now a perfect 100 percent in the last seven games outside of that kneel.

Kelly Using His Legs

Kelly has seven rushing touchdowns and 236 rushing yards on 33 carries in his past four games when you take sacks out of the equation. He has rushed for two touchdowns in each of the last three games.

Kelly Putting Points On The Board

Kelly has accounted for 84 points in past three games, including all 18 three touchdowns accounted for against Utah. He has already accounted for 186 points this season, which surpasses his 2012 total. That number is the second most in school history and only trails Mike Pagel, who notched 198 points in 1981. 

Winning The Toss and Receiving

The Devils won the coin toss and chose to receive for just the third time in coach Graham’s tenure at ASU. They have won the coin toss 11 times in coach Graham’s tenure and have deferred eight times.  

ASU’s first drive resulted in a 10-play, 74-yard, 3 minute and 25 second touchdown drive. They also won the toss and received against Colorado earlier this season, which resulted in a 5-play, 84-yard, 1 minute, 38 second touchdown drive. They also won the toss and received against USC in 2012 and went on a 7-play, 60-yard, 2 minute and one second drive that resulted in a turnover on downs.

Explosive Play Counter

ASU considers an explosive play any play that involves a rush over 12 yards or a pass over 16 yards. The team had seven such plays against Utah, including five in the fourth quarter. ASU now has 103 such plays this season.

Push ‘Em Back

ASU’s nine tackles for loss are tied with the USC game for the second most this season. The season high was 12 against Washington.

Career Highs

-There were numerous career highs set on Saturday. Chris Young (14), Will Sutton (9), Gannon Conway (5) and Anthony Jones (5) all set career highs for tackles.  

-Alex Garoutte also had a 52-yard punt in the third quarter

-Marion Grice had a career-long 44-yard kickoff return to go along with a season high long rush of 38 yards on the key drive in the fourth

Forever Young

With a team-high 14 tackles, Chris Young has now led the team in tackles in four games this season.

Strike First

With Taylor Kelly’s 10-yard rush on ASU’s first possession against Utah, ASU has scored first in 18 of the 22 games with Todd Graham at the helm, and is 6-1 in such contests this season. The Sun Devils are now 13-5 in the Todd Graham era when getting on the scoreboard first.

Defensive Timeout Success

Devils improved to 8-of-11 in forcing a fourth down after calling a defensive timeout prior to an opponent third down
