TEMPE, Ariz.—The fourth-ranked Arizona State women’s golf team sits in a tie for fourth place after the second-round of the 38th Annual PING/ASU Invitational at the ASU Karsten Golf Course, Saturday. The Sun Devils shot a 14-over 298 in the second round for a two-day total of 10-over 578 (280-298).
Sophomores Justine Lee and Laura Blanco, who recorded career rounds on the first day of competition, continue to lead the Sun Devils on the course. Lee and Blanco are tied for 15th on day two with scores of 2-over 144.
Freshman Noemi Jimenez shot the low round of the day for ASU, recording a 1-over 72 and carding three birdies in the round. Jimenez is currently tied for 57th with a two-day total of 8-over 150 (78-72). Senior Giulia Molinaro, ranked fourth in the nation, is tied for 33rd with a two-round total of 5-over 147.
The No. 1 ranked UCLA Bruins led the field on Saturday, finishing the day with a 3-under 565. The Bruin’s Tiffany Lua holds the lead individually with a score of 5-over 137 (68-69).
The final round of the PING/ASU Invitational concludes tomorrow from the par-71, 6,121-yard ASU Karsten Golf Course.
