LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Highlighted two final-day victories, the 19th-ranked Arizona State women’s tennis team wrapped the Freeman Memorial Tennis Championships, hosted by UNLV, on Sunday.
Senior Michelle Brycki defeated Chanelle Van Nguyen of fifth-ranked UCLA, 6-4, 6-3 in added singles matches on the final day of competition.
“Michelle played really well this weekend,” said head coach Sheila McInerney. “She won her singles against UCLA and competed hard.”
The doubles pair Leighann Sahagun and Nicole Smith defeated the duo of Scandalias and Pulido of USC in a hard-fought doubles match, winning 9-8.
