Ojai, Calif.—The Sun Devil pair of Micaela Hein and Kelcy McKenna closed out competition at the 2011 Pac-10 women’s tennis Championships, falling to the second-seeded duo of Christian/Sanchez of USC, 8-3 on Saturday.
The senior doubles pair was the lone Sun Devil representative left in the conference tournament, with Hein/McKenna competing all the way into to semifinals. The semifinal match-up on Saturday was for a spot in the conference finals to determine the Pac-10 doubles champion.
The Sun Devils return to Tempe to await the 2011 NCAA regional selections on Tuesday. ASU is currently 14th in the most recent ITA Tennis rankings. The last time Arizona State hosted a regional was 2002.
