TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - April Cook scored 33 points to help Washington State snap a 11-game losing streak and give the Cougars their first Pac-10 win of the season, a 66-62 victory Saturday over Arizona State.

The Cougars (6-16, 1-10 Pac-10) overcame 28 turnovers and a 13-point first-half deficit to win for the first time since beating San Francisco 74-57 on Dec. 19. Washington State also hadn't defeated the Sun Devils (14-8, 6-5) since beating them 75-72 on Feb. 28, 2004, in Pullman, Wash., also an 11-game streak.

Kiki Moore added 16 points, five assists and four steals, although she committed 13 turnovers on her own for the Cougars. Jazmine Perkins had nine points, six rebounds and five steals for Washington State, which hadn't beaten Arizona State in Tempe since Jan. 30, 1997.

Kayli Murphy scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, her second straight double-double and fourth of her career for Arizona State, which had won six of its last seven.

Washington State trailed most of the afternoon until Cook and Jazmine Perkins each hit 3-pointers to give the Cougars the lead for good at 48-44 with 7:15 remaining.

Arizona State was within 64-61 with 24.4 seconds left after Kayli Murphy hit two free throws. But Tenaya Watson only made one of two foul shots nine seconds later and Rosie Tarnowski hit a pair of free throws - her only points of the game - with 11.9 seconds left to secure the win.

The Sun Devils turned the ball over 29 times and shot 22-of-59 (37 percent) from the field against the team that has given up the second most points in the conference.

The teams combined for 39 turnovers in the first half. Cook scored the Cougars' first 12 points, helping them overcome committing 13 turnovers in the first 10 minutes. Washington State trailed 17-4 but Jazmine Perkins and Kiki Moore scored late baskets to get the Cougars within 29-26 at the break.
