TEMPE, Ariz. -- The ninth-ranked Arizona State soccer team (3-2) tallied all three of its goals in the first 31 minutes of play en route to a 3-2 win over Dartmouth (2-1-2), Friday night at the Sun Devil Invitational. In the first game of the invitational, Oklahoma (3-1-3) and San Diego State (2-3-2) played to a scoreless tie.

The Sun Devils wasted little time getting on the board in the 12th minute as a breaking Elizabeth Bogus took a thru pass from Katie Leahy and shot it into the lower left of the goal.

In the 28th minute, Brittany Cooper put ASU up 2-0 when she headed in a beautiful chip shot from Katie Mahoney from 7 yards out into the left side of the goal. Then just three minutes later, Manya Makoski collected a lose ball and dribbled it through and around several Dartmouth defenders before tagging it into the lower right corner from 5 yards out.

However, with just seconds remaining in the first half, Dartmouth's Jennie Tonneson tallied her first goal of the game off of a free kick from 26 yards out.

In the second half, nearly all of the possessions were in Dartmouth's half, but they soon clipped the lead to 3-2 when Tonneson tallied her second goal of the night off of a penalty kick in the 54th minute.

ASU had several more scoring chances, but could not convert. ASU out shot Dartmouth 17-4 and posted five corner kicks. Anne Marbarger of Dartmouth recorded eight saves while ASU's Kim Bingham (first half) and Kelly Fitzgerald split the goalkeeping duties.

Up next, the invitational will close out on Sunday beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Dartmouth facing San Diego State, while the Sun Devils will take on Oklahoma at 1:00 p.m.
