TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second straight game, the Arizona State (7-4-0, 1-2-0 Pac-10) soccer team was blanked, this time by 14th-ranked USC (9-3-0, 2-0-0 Pac-10), 2-0 today in Los Angeles.
USC's Kim Clark scored the first goal and game-winner in the seventh minute. The Trojans would tag another goal on in the 17th minute off a penalty kick by Izabelle Harvey.
The Sun Devils had several scoring chances in the second half, but USC's defenders made numerous saves to preserve the shutout. Stacey Tullock and Shanel Scott each had four shots to lead ASU. On the day ASU had 13 shots, while USC posted 19.
Goalkeeper Erin Reinke made 10 saves, while USC's keeper tallied six saves.
Arizona State returns home to face California on Friday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m.
