TEMPE, Ariz. - Despite outshooting Northern Arizona 25-6, the Arizona State Sun Devils (6-2-0, 1-0-0 Pac-10) had to go into overtime to defeat the Lumberjacks (1-6-0, 0-0-0 Big Sky), 1-0 Wednesday night at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.
In the 92nd minute, junior Forward Karine Inoue received a through-ball from defender Shanel Scott. After dribbling the ball past one NAU defender, Inoue nailed the 10-yard shot past the goalkeeper in the lower right corner for the game-winner. It was Inoue's third goal of the year and her second game-winner.
Midfielder Stracey Tullock peppered the NAU goal with 11 shots to lead the Sun Devils, while five other players had at least two shots. ASU also dominated in corner kicks, posting nine to NAU's one
ASU goalkeeper Erin Reinke posted her second shutout of the season, collecting only two saves. Northern Arizona's goalkeeper Erin Beckman made several outstanding saves on her way to a 12 save performance.
Arizona State will conclude their homestand this Friday with a game against Wyoming at 7:00 p.m.
