Golf World Notes ASU One of Just Four Men's Golf Programs In the Top 25 With Perfect APR Score
Arizona State men's golfers Niklas Lemke (B.I.S., Sociology and Family Studies), Fredrik Andersson (B.S., Economics) and Phil Telliard (B.A. Communication) will bring the number of Sun Devils to earn their undergraduate degrees under 15th-year head coach Randy Lein to 46 next weekend when ASU holds its annual spring commencement. Lemke, a two-time All-American who has eight top-five finishes this year, joins former All-Americans such as Alejandro Canizares (B.I.S., Landscape Architecture/Sociology in 2006 and 2003 NCAA champion), Todd Demsey (B.A., Psychology in 1995 and 1993 NCAA Champion) and Jeff Quinney (B.S. Finance in 2002 and 2000 U.S. Amateur Champion) as the most recognizable names on the list. The Sun Devils host the NCAA West Regional May 17-18 at Karsten Golf Course, and admission is free.

Also, the men's golf team is one of two Sun Devil programs to post perfect 1,000 Academic Progress Rate scores, along with women's tennis. The NCAA recognized more than 800 Division I sports teams with public recognition awards for their latest Academic Progress Rate scores last week. A complete list is available at:
The following men's golf programs were recognized by the NCAA for their academic progress rate scores: American, Arizona State, Auburn, Bradley, Brown, Bucknell, Butler, Colgate, Connecticut, Cornell, Creighton, Dartmouth, Davidson, Dayton, DePaul, Duke, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Evansville, Florida State, Furman, George Mason, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Harvard, Holy Cross, James Madison, Kansas, Kent State, Lafayette, Long Beach State, Marquette, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, New Mexico State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio, Oklahoma State, Penn, Princeton, Rice, Saint Louis, South Florida, St. Bonaventure, South Florida, Villanova, Virginia, William and Mary and Yale. Only ASU (15), Duke (25), Georgia Tech (13) and Oklahoma State (seventh) are in the most recent Golf World Coaches' Poll as well.
