Player Bio: Phil Telliard



OFF THE TEE: A team captain in both 2006-07 and 2007-08...one of 26 Sun Devils (on 54 occasions) who has earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors under Randy Lein in his 15 seasons as Phil earned first-team honors in 2007, second-team in 2006 and honorable mention in 2005...one of three Sun Devils (Alejandro Canizares and Niklas Lemke were the others) named to the 2005-2006 Cleveland Golf Scholar All-American Team...a 2007 ASU graduate (B.A., Communications) as he posted a 3.39 grade point average in his undergraduate work...redshirted in 2003-04 and has played in 16 tournaments...was 18th in the 2006 Topy Cup with a 5-over 221...tied for 19th at the 2005 PING-Arizona Intercollegiate with a 2-over 215...qualified for the 2004 U.S. Amateur at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, N.Y....enjoys playing the piano...best round was a 64 at the Victoria Club.

AJGA HIGHLIGHTS: Had six top-five finishes in his AJGA career including second-place finishes at the 2001 Greater Hartford Tournament and the 2002 Mission Hills Tournament...twice won the AJGA final low round award...advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2001 U.S. Junior Championship at Oak Hills in San Antonio, Texas, before losing to eventual champion Henry Liaw, 2 and 1...was the youngest member in the history of the Southern California Junior team at 14 years old back in 1999 as his team, including older brother Nick, won the 39th California Cup at the Victoria Club.

RIVERSIDE POLY HIGH SCHOOL: A June of 2003 graduate of Riverside Poly High School in Riverside, Calif....earned four letters in golf...team captain for one year...an All-Ivy League pick in 2001...recipient of the Coach's Award from 2000-2003...stroke average was 35.4 in senior year.

ETC.: Full name is Phil Edward Telliard...born September 5, 1984, in Riverside, Calif....father is Tom and mother is Debbie...has two older brothers, Joe and Nick, and a younger sister, Lauren.
