Sun Devil men's golf coach Tim Mickelson hired Joe Prince, most recently an assistant at San Diego, as his assistant coach in January of 2013.

"Joe is an extremely hard worker who understands the potential at Arizona State and all the program has to offer," notes Mickelson, hired in July of 2011. "We are excited to have him in Tempe."

Prior to becoming an assistant to Cory Scoggin at San Diego in 2011, he was an assistant coach at California Baptist University. After earning his amateur status back this past summer he qualified for both the Public Links and the U.S. Amateur.

Prior to getting into coaching he turned in a solid playing career as a professional golfer. Prince, who turned pro in 2006, toured on the U.S. Pro Golf Tour, the Gateway Tour and the Golden State Tour. In 2008, Prince won the Oak Valley Championship, and finished ninth on the Golden State Tour Money List. Prince posted six top-five finishes in 2008.

Joe Prince played collegiately at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, Calif., and was the medalist at the 2006 NAIA National Championship.

Before turning pro, Prince was ranked as a top top-60 amateur in the country by GolfWeek Magazine. Prince played in the Western Amateur in 2006 and made the cut in 2006 USGA Amateur Pub Links where he won two rounds before falling to the eventual winner in the third round of the tournament.

Prince played collegiately at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, Calif. He was the medalist at the 2006 NAIA National Championship and was named NAIA All-American twice, earning three all-region honors.

Prince, who hails from Seattle, Wash., graduated with a bachelor's in managerial and organizational communication from Point Loma Nazarene in 2006.
