Goldstein Earns Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. (www.thesundevils.com) -- Arizona State University redshirt freshman forward Chad Goldstein (Scottsdale, Ariz.) has been named to the Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic Second Team, announced Tuesday by Commissioner Tom Hansen. A student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) and be either a starter or significant reserve.

Goldstein, a pre-business student, has accumulated an overall GPA of 3.73. In the 2005-06 season, Goldstein averaged 2.8 points per game and 1.9 rebounds per game. The 2004 graduate from Desert Mountain High School (Scottsdale, Ariz.) played in 19 games for the Sun Devils this season.

ASU men's basketball has had nine other Pac-10 All-Academic selections including Matt Anderson (1990-91), Bobby Lazor (1997-98, 1998-99), Shawn Redhage (2000-01, 2001-02, 2002-03), Justin Allen (2002-03, 2003-04) and Wilfried Fameni (2004-05).
