FAN FEST CENTRAL | TRAFFIC GUIDE
TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University fans and former letterwinners are kicking off the 2013 football season over the next two days as part of Sun Devil Football Alumni Weekend and Fan Fest presented by MidFirst Bank.
Fan Fest, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, is a free event and offers an unparalleled opportunity for fans to see the 2013 football team compete this spring.
More than 100 former players are participating in the weekend's alumni festivities, including Ring of Honor members Bob Kohrs (1977-79), JD Hill (67-68, 70) and coach Frank Kush (55-79), and All-Americans Derek Hagan (02-05), Todd Heap (98-00), JR Redmond (96-99), Jake Plummer (93-96) and Nathan LaDuke (87-90), along with many others.
These Sun Devil stars are holding an autograph session at Fan Fest, and also partaking in a golf tournament at Las Sendas Golf Club and a happy hour/social at Talking Stick Resort and Casino.
The on-field scrimmage begins at 11 a.m. and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network, but make your plans now to arrive early and enjoy a full day of Sun Devil entertainment.
Starting at 9 a.m., activities for fans of all ages begin in the Gold Lot outside the southeast entrance of Sun Devil Stadium, from an interactive Sun Devil Way Fan Fest and the Kids Zone presented by the Junior Sun Devil Club and Shamrock Foods to the Great Sun Devil Tailgate Competition.
Gates to Sun Devil Stadium open at 10 a.m. as another set of unique ASU experiences carry on, highlighted by the Social Media Command Center, where fans can connect with Sun Devil Athletics and join in the social conversation. In addition, venture up to the MidFirst Bank Loge Level and experience the view while enjoying your favorite beverage, interact with the numerous former ASU greats in attendance or take photos with the 1987 Rose Bowl Trophy, the Territorial Cup and other Sun Devil memorabilia.
Following the action on the field, the gates to Frank Kush Field will be opened to everyone for a special kids skills challenge and an autograph session featuring current Sun Devil football players and coaches.
Season tickets are currently on sale at www.sundeviltickets.com and members of the Sun Devil Athletics sales and service staff will be on hand throughout the day to help fans find the perfect seat for the 2013 season at our Select-a-Seat event, as well as give tours and answer any other fan questions.
The day's events conclude with Fan Feast as AZ Barbeque, Liberty's Biscuits, Cold Stone Creamery and a number of other food carts will be stationed outside of the stadium.
ASU opens the 2013 season on Sept. 5 at Sun Devil Stadium against Sacramento State and the remaining schedule features two conference champions, the national championship runner-up and traditional Pac-12 rivals.
